Integral Magick came to be because I was fed up of the confusion.
I started practising magick to fix what was wrong with me, to learn to connect to other people properly, and to reach an understanding of reality that I wasn't finding anywhere else.
And when I started along this path, I quickly noticed what many initiates notice: This is really confusing.
There are parts that are confusing because they have to be. Looking into the Self and shining a light on your own unconscious mind is always going to be a tricky experience, for example.
But there were other parts that just didn't make sense to me. Why does one group of seekers say "You must do things this way" and another group say "Whatever you do, never do things that way"?
What was the point of the work I was doing? Why was I learning endless sets of symbols, meditations, rituals? What was it all for? Every answer I got raised a hundred more questions, and I couldn't seem to find a way to fit what I was learning into a context that made sense.
It didn't feel like progress. It felt like I was wasting time trying to make sense of things that could more easily be understood if I just had a framework for understanding the hows, the how tos, and the whys of magick.
I needed a system that told me how to achieve the results I was looking for. That showed me how to transform particular aspects of myself in order to live how I wanted. That proved that I was progressing and not just going around in circles.
So I made one.
I realised that every spiritual discipline, at their core, train the same skills.
Like concentration. Empathy. Discipline. Faith.
Every practise worked on some combination of those skills. And when I understood how they worked, what I was training when I meditated and focused and visualised...
...the practises worked even better.
And more than that, it suddenly made sense. I knew the why.
From that, Integral Magick was born.
I created the Integral Magick system to help myself and other seekers know what we're doing and why we're doing it.
